Easy Jet’s advert reflects the brand’s new direction for the tourist season.
If there is any industry that has been repeatedly damaged by the pandemic, it is tourism. Health policies differed in each country and the inhabitants have preferred local tourism to international tourism.
And, although the sector has not yet managed to recover the levels of 2019, the future looks hopeful. A first test will be the summer season, and tourism brands do not want to miss the opportunity to boost business again. An example is Easy Jet, the low-cost airline that has launched a fun advertising campaign.
“Next Gen” is the title of the Easy Jet advert. It was made by the VCC London agency and directed by Nick Ball. In it, the company wanted to capture that magical feeling that we all have when we go on vacation. And it does it in a fresh and fun way, with tourists taking off and flying -literally- through the skies to end up landing in their ideal vacation spot.
“Next Gen” is intended to reflect the new direction of the brand, which seeks a commitment to the decarbonization of aviation. According to the brand, in a statement: “EasyJet is the original democratizer of travel and, beyond its low fares, has continued to challenge itself and the industry to pioneer positive change. “nextGen easyJet” will set the airline on a new journey that is not only easy and affordable, but upholds and acts on the values its customers share.”
According to Richard Sherwood, director of marketing and customer service at EasyJet: “More than ever, consumers are looking for brands they trust and with whom they share the same values, and although we see that there is a pent-up demand to travel in Europe, the people don’t want to enjoy travel at any price”.
