The spectacular Volvo Trucks commercial: “The Tower”
The Volvo Trucks commercial bets on spectacularity with “The Tower”, where it stacks all the trucks of the brand.
Volvo Trucks advertising campaigns are undoubtedly the best that the brand has brought to creativity. They are usually spectacular ads with a very high technical difficulty, all shot without any subsequent addition.
And of course, remember that memorable commercial of Volvo Trucks with Van Damme and his “Epic Split” that was crowned as the second best commercial of the decade in our special. Well, Volvo has done it again and delights us with a spectacular advertisement where to stack all the trucks of the brand to form a tower.
“The Tower” is the Volvo Trucks commercial to present the new models of the Swedish brand. Yes, in the plural. And is that Volvo has launched four new truck models, a milestone in the automotive industry. To announce it has to decide to place them on top of each other.
The Volvo truck tower is 15 meters high and weighs 58 tons. To prove that it is real, the same president of the company, Roger Alm has climbed on top of the tower to present to the world this madness of announcement.
The Volvo Trucks ad was filmed at the end of 2019 on the outskirts of Gothenburg, Sweden. Four new truck models were introduced, the Volvo FH, the Volvo FH16, the Volvo FM and the Volvo FMX. It took a month for the engineering team to design and build a tower that was capable of moving. According to the brand: “It was possible thanks to the Volvo FMX and its new 38-ton bogie capable of transporting the weight of others. Constant speed and heading was achieved thanks to the Volvo Dynamic Direction.”
The brand stressed that both the tower and the visual effects are real. According to Roger Alm: “This is our biggest launch in Volvo Trucks. These vehicles will have a great impact on the profitability of our customers, as well as their ability to compete and attract both businesses and the best drivers.” We leave you with the making of the advertising campaign of Volvo: The Tower.
