The French brand is updating all its iconic models, with the new electric Renault 4 at the forefront.

There are many car brands that are taking advantage of the electrification of cars to renew both their corporate image and their fleet of iconic models. This is the case of Renault, which recently presented its new electric Renault 5 and now presents the update of one of the best-selling cars in its history: The Renault 4.

And it does so with a campaign that is a tribute to the legacy of the popular Renault 4, one of the best-selling cars from the 60s to the 80s.

Renault – Liberté at first sight

“Liberté at first sight” is the title of the Renault advert to present the electric Renault 4. It was produced by the agency Publicis Conseil and is the second iconic model of the brand presented after the announcement of the Renault 5.

The piece is a tribute to the legacy left by the Renault 4 in the 60s to the 80s. During this period it sold more than 8 million units and was exported to more than 100 countries around the world, becoming an icon in all countries.

Through its iconic lights, we see several historical periods pass by to the rhythm of the song “Je reviens te chasse” by Gilbert Bécaud. The new electric model was presented in Paris and of course, it is adapted to the new times: 100% electric, 88% recyclable, connected to Google and integrating more than 50 applications.

According to Arnaud Belloni, Renault Global Brand Marketing Director: “This film captures the legacy of the Renault 4, its iconic design elements such as its front grille and round headlights. Of course, but above all the fact that it has played an active role in the development of new freedoms since the 1960s. Let’s bet that the 100% electric Renault 4 E-Tech will also be able to accompany the development of freedoms.”
