The Kit Kat advert transforms its chocolate bars into flesh and blood.
The Orchard agency was in charge of the advertising campaign

Kit Kat advert introduces the “Break Brothers”, a real-life representation of its chocolate bar.
If there’s a brand with an iconic slogan, it’s Kit Kat. Its legendary “Have a break, have a KitKat” was launched in 1957 and has since become embedded in popular culture. It has become the universal symbol of a well-deserved break.
Now, the brand has decided to evolve that concept by portraying the chocolate bars as break bodyguards. A fresh, fun, and bold campaign that fits today’s fast-paced lifestyle.
Kit Kat – Break Brothers
“Chores” is the title of the Kit Kat advert created by the agency Orchard, which was in charge of reimagining the brand concept and introducing the “Break Brothers”.
The spot takes place in a typical office, where a worker decides to take a break. When his boss is about to interrupt him, the “Break Brothers” appear — four bodyguards dressed in brown suits representing the four fingers of the Kit Kat bar. These lookalikes become a human shield, allowing the worker to enjoy his break.
In another spot, the Kit Kat advert transports us to a teenager’s bedroom, where he takes a break just as his dad asks him to clean up. The “Break Brothers” show up to lend a hand and help tidy the room.
According to Ryan Riess, Vice President of Brand Strategy and Creative Development at Hershey: “The ‘Break Brothers’ personify everything the Kit Kat brand stands for making breaks better, more frequent, and absolutely delicious.”
Meanwhile, David Kolbusz, Chief Creative Officer at Orchard, explains: “Since Kit Kat has been associated with taking breaks since the 1950s, we loved the idea of turning its chocolate bars into authority figures who fiercely protect those breaks.”
