The canned water brand and the streaming platform launch a funeral urn with a built-in Bluetooth speaker.
If there is a brand that has successfully claimed the territory of death through dark humor and provocation, it is Liquid Death. Over the past few years, it has proven that even a functional category like water can be built around spectacle, irreverence, and extreme merchandising.
This time, the brand takes things a step further by teaming up with Spotify to launch a product that feels like it came straight out of a fictional campaign… but is completely real. A funeral urn with a built-in wireless speaker so that, quite literally, music can follow us into the afterlife.
Liquid Death x Spotify – Eternal Playlist Urn
The Liquid Death and Spotify campaign is titled “Eternal Playlist Urn”. It is a limited edition product that combines minimalist design with Bluetooth technology integrated into the lid. Connected to a smartphone or other device, the urn can play music from within, turning eternal rest into a personalized sound experience.
But the campaign goes beyond hardware. As a complement, Spotify has launched in the United States a digital tool called “Eternal Playlist Generator”, a feature that, based on a series of questions about musical tastes, personal style, and listening history, creates a playlist designed to accompany the user into their “afterlife.”
The initiative blends physical product, digital experience, and storytelling with a provocative tone that perfectly matches Liquid Death’s brand DNA. It is not the first time the company has played with funeral iconography: it has previously launched products such as coffin-shaped freezers and beauty collaborations packaged in casket-inspired designs.
