Amazon – Midnight Opus – Christmas Holidays 2024

“Midnight Opus” is the title of Amazon’s Christmas advert made by the company’s internal agency and directed by award-winning director Waine McClammy.

This year, Amazon’s ad tells us the story of a theater janitor who goes about his daily maintenance tasks. But the peculiarity is that he does it singing “What the World Needs Now Is Love” the classic sung by Hal David and composed by Burt Bacharch in 1965.

His colleagues notice the musical talent that is resonating through the halls and feel that they must organize a special party for him. Said and done, his colleagues prepare the stage for him to sing on, with a staging worthy of the best nights.

Of course, Amazon will come to the rescue with the purchase of an elegant black tuxedo jacket, which will allow the humble star to attract attention and amaze his colleagues, attendees in the theater seats.

According to Jo Shoesmith, Amazon’s global creative director, in a statement: “This story celebrates the joy of doing something special for the people in our lives. I think we all know how wonderful it feels to be the recipient of the smallest act of kindness, whether it’s a thoughtful gift or a word of encouragement, and we wanted to bring that ineffable emotion to life.”
