If there is one company advocating for mental health in its advertising campaigns, it is AXA. The insurance company has long been empowering people to talk about mental health and build mental resilience.
This time, it takes a different approach by presenting a fun group therapy session led by Neil Patrick Harris, the actor known for the series “How I Met Your Mother”. Six renowned comedians will share their experiences with mental health in a documentary-style format.

“Group Therapy” is the title of the AXA advert in documentary format, directed by Kevin Hart and produced by Heartbeat Productions. The full documentary will be available on Prime Video in the United States.
The piece features six well-known comedians: Mike Birbiglia (Orange Is The New Black), Nicole Byer (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Gary Gulman (Joker), London Hughes (The Netflix Afterparty), Tig Notaro (Mississippi Grind), and Atsuko Okatsuka (The Intruder). These comedians share their personal experiences and the daily challenges they face regarding mental health.
The documentary runs for 86 minutes and offers moments of great comedy, but also deep reflection. The conversation flows naturally, without feeling forced, preachy, or offering definitive solutions. It is simply people talking about mental health.
The AXA advert is accompanied by the “Mind Your Health” report. According to this study, 32% of the 17,000 respondents stated that they deal with at least one mental health issue, a figure that rises to 44% among young adults. Additionally, 52% of younger individuals admitted that excessive use of social media and digital devices negatively impacts their emotional well-being.
