Barbour’s Christmas advert starring Shaun the Sheep
The famous animation studio Aardman is in charge of the advertising campaign
The Barbour Christmas advert is a Christmas story starring the famous Shaun the Sheep.
We are all probably familiar with Shaun the Sheep, the animated series created by Aardman Animations that premiered on March 5, 2007 on the BBC. Its unique clay animation style immediately caught the imagination of the public, becoming one of the network’s most successful series.
Now, the famous British clothing brand Barbour has launched its Christmas campaign and has done so with a piece starring Shaun the Sheep. The piece shows us an adorable chorus of sheep and the attempts of Bitzer, the dog, to shelter them.

“Shaun the Sheep x Baa-bour” is the title of Barbour’s Christmas advert, made by animation studio Aardman. This is the second time the brand has partnered with the animation studio, having already collaborated together last year.
The piece shows Bitzer the dog trying to lead a flock to sing Christmas carols. But the cold quickly takes over and they freeze to death. The dog decides to head to a Barbour store and buy some scarves and hats to keep the sheep warm.
As part of the campaign, Barbour will be releasing 30 limited edition waxed jackets featuring Shaun the Sheep, with the proceeds going to Oxfam.
According to Paul Wilkinson, commercial director of the Barbour group: “Following the success of the previous campaign, Barbour is once again collaborating with Aardman, a British brand that shares its values of craftsmanship and quality. Inspired by its multi-generational audience, this year’s campaign will support Oxfam by offering 30 limited edition Barbour x Shaun the Sheep waxed jackets, with all proceeds going to the charity.”
