The Budweiser advert tells the story of an old horse and a lost beer can.
If there’s anything more American than the Super Bowl, it’s a Budweiser Super Bowl advert. The most popular beer brand in the USA is back for another year with an ad for the most watched event on the planet.
This time it’s bringing back the famous Clydesdale horse breed, and as an old horse it can no longer pull the cart with its companions. But an accident with a barrel will allow it to do its duty once again.
Budweiser’s Super Bowl advert is titled “First Delivery” and was shot by agency FCB New York and directed by Henry-Alex Rubin of Smuggler.
The piece celebrates the determination of the American spirit and reiterates the brand’s commitment to ‘always deliver’ at the Super Bowl each year, adding to a 90-year history with horses. This time, we see an old Clydesdale horse that is too old to pull the cart and deliver the Budweiser cans. As he leaves, a can falls to the ground and our hero will not hesitate to carry it to the nearest bar.
Budweiser’s Super Bowl ad is accompanied by the song “Let Your Love Flow” by The Bellamy Brothers as the horse travels through idyllic American landscapes. Mountains, pastures, even a river. All to reach his destination.
