Heathrow Christmas advert brings back its beloved bears Doris and Edward in the campaign “It Must Be Love”

When it comes to Christmas adverts, airport campaigns rarely disappoint. During this time of year, the comings and goings of people travelling to spend the holidays with their loved ones are constant — and brands know it.

And if there’s one airport that stands out for its communication, it’s London’s Heathrow. This year, the airport presents a Christmas advert that reinterprets the magic of travelling with family through a heartwarming story starring its famous teddy bears, Doris and Edward.

Heathrow Advert – It Must Be Love

The Heathrow Airport Christmas advert is titled “It Must Be Love” and was developed by the agency St. Luke’s. This time, the story follows the beloved bears Doris and Edward as they make their way through the airport to catch a flight, rediscovering the magic of travel and the little pleasures Heathrow offers its passengers.

Throughout the film, we see the bears enjoying the different areas of the airport: the friendly staff, the sticky luggage tags, the duty-free shops, and the new pod parking system — where driverless electric pods whisk travellers from the car park to the terminal. All of this is accompanied by the song “It Must Be Love”, performed by young British singer Maius Mollis, adding an emotional and nostalgic touch to the story.

The Heathrow Airport Christmas advert blends humour, tenderness, and technology without overdoing it. Doris and Edward represent a generation that adapts to modern times naturally, showing that independence and adventure have no age.

According to Meenal Varsani, Head of Marketing, Loyalty & Customer Engagement at Heathrow: “The adventures of Doris and Edward capture those special moments we share with family and friends before take-off, which often become part of our most cherished holiday memories.”

Meanwhile, Richard Denney, Joint Chief Creative Officer at St. Luke’s, adds: “Doris and Edward are back at Heathrow to remind us that the best journeys aren’t just about where we go, but who we go with. Edward is still as playful and charming as ever, and Doris, as always, is the heartbeat that makes the two one.”
