Liquid Death’s advert makes water smarter thanks to Alexa.
Liquid Death is undoubtedly one of the edgiest brands right now. Its interesting proposal—basically selling canned water—has made it attractive to young audiences, all thanks to aggressive, fun, and original advertising.
Now they have launched a campaign in collaboration with Amazon Ads, aiming to make water smarter so you can absorb knowledge when you drink it.
Liquid Death: Certified Smarter Water
The Liquid Death advert is titled “Certified Smarter Water” and was created by the brand’s in-house agency in collaboration with the Amazon Ads Brand Innovation Lab. Its release coincided with the back-to-school season in September.
The spot features young people joking about how this “smart water” could replace unconventional methods to pass college. One dreams of getting into medical school just by drinking water, while another humorously recalls lessons learned in prison.
The key element of the campaign is Alexa, who “programs” the water cans by reading excerpts from textbooks—ranging from psychology and economics to classical literature or quantum physics. The result is a brilliant satire about how we look for shortcuts to learn faster.
The Liquid Death advert in collaboration with Amazon lets you activate the experience by saying: “Alexa, make my Liquid Death smarter.”
According to Andy Pearson, Liquid Death’s VP of Creative: “Our collaboration with Amazon comes from years of a good relationship. Now, with back-to-school season, we saw the perfect opportunity to create something fun with a humorous nod to students.”
