State Farm advert is an hilarious story featuring a “fake” Batman.
The Highdive agency was in charge of the advertising campaign

The State Farm advert presents us with a campaign full of humor featuring a down-on-his-luck Batman.
If there is one tormented, dark, and determined superhero, it is Batman. The masked superhero has become a pop culture icon in all his versions, from Adam West in the ’60s to the latest films starring Robert Pattinson.
Now, the insurance company State Farm presents us with a fun advertising campaign that draws a parallel to convey that not all insurance policies are the same. To do this, it introduces a down-on-his-luck Batman played by Jason Bateman.
Batman vs. Bateman, by State Farm
“Batman vs. Bateman” is the title of the State Farm advert created by the agency Highdive and produced by Anomaly. It stars actor Jason Bateman, known for series such as Ozark and Arrested Development.
In fact, the title of the State Farm advert is a play on words between the actor’s last name, “Bateman,” and the name of the bat. Everything helps to introduce a fallen superhero who pretends to be Gotham’s masked vigilante.
The piece presents a gritty, dark, and decayed Gotham in a cinematic tone. Suddenly, Commissioner Gordon lights up the Bat-Signal to call Batman. When he appears, it turns out to be Bateman with his own unconventional methods. The new superhero will try to face Batman’s greatest villains, played by SZA, Kai Cenat, Jordan the Stallion, and Jake from State Farm.
The State Farm advert constantly plays with the idea of expectations versus reality, with absurd and hilarious situations symbolizing the difference between choosing just any insurance or selecting State Farm.
This campaign follows the trend of major brands using iconic characters in their advertising campaigns. This allows them to connect emotionally with consumers and achieve greater brand retention.
The company stated: “We want our customers to understand that not all insurance policies are the same. Our goal with this ad is to highlight that with State Farm, they are choosing real and reliable protection, not just an imitation.”
