The Visa advert reimagines its slogan to adapt to new generations.

Some of the most acclaimed advertising campaigns in history come from Visa and Mastercard. Both financial services companies have left us with memorable campaigns and great slogans that we have used in our daily lives.

It was in 1985 when Visa launched the campaign “It’s Everywhere You Want To Be” together with BBDO in an attempt to differentiate itself from MasterCard and AMEX, its competitors at the time. Now, it has launched a new campaign that reimagines this concept to suit new generations.

Visa Advert – Typewriter

The Visa advert, titled “Typewriter”, was created by the agency Anomaly and premiered during the 97th Academy Awards ceremony.

The piece tells the story of a young woman who hesitates when buying an old typewriter. Her imagination takes her on a journey through different career paths she could pursue if she decides to get it. She envisions becoming a writer and eventually making a movie with her favorite director, becoming a top chef thanks to her cooking recipes, or even opening a travel agency and exploring the world.

The typewriter symbolizes more than just a simple purchase; it represents a key step in shaping her future. The Visa advert teaches us that every purchasing decision can open new doors and inspire new paths.

According to the company, in a statement: “From the moment our protagonist buys her first typewriter to the day she becomes a successful screenwriter, every tap and click marks a step in her inspiring life story, demonstrating that opportunity is just one transaction away. It’s not just about where you’re going, but about who you’re becoming.”
