‘Paul from Finance’ steals the show in epic Adidas advert
The Midnight Club agency was in charge of the advertising campaign

Adidas’ ad introduces us to its new “Predator” boot model, with which anyone can become a world star.
If there is a brand that has made iconic football boots, it is Adidas. Those of us who have played football fondly remember the “Copa Mundial”, the “Kaiser” and later, the “Predator”, a type of boot that was destined to revolutionise football thanks to its aggressive design that allowed for more spin on the ball.
Now, to present its new “Predator” model, Adidas has launched this epic campaign with all its flagships showing off their best skills. When fans realise it’s thanks to the boots, they all get excited to play football.
Adidas’ advert was produced by agency The Midnight Club, production company Business Club and director Tom Emmerson. It features cameos from the brand’s biggest stars: David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane and Aitana Bonmatí.
The piece shows us the advantages of the new “Predator” boots and how Jude Bellingham achieves all his successes thanks to wearing Adidas boots. When fans realize this, they start wearing the same boots in the hope of becoming professionals. But only one can outshine him: “Paul from Finance”, a humble accountant for a multinational who decides to leave his job to become a professional. Little by little he will become the envy of the entire football star system, until he signs for David Beckham’s Inter Miami.
Adidas’s advert fits in with the brand’s leitmotif: “Impossible Is Nothing” and connects with both those who play football professionally and those who play it as amateurs.
