“Instant Crush” by Daft Punk and Julian Casablancas is the Renault 5 advert song.

Renault 5 advert song is titled “Instant Crush” by Daft Punk and Julian Casablancas. This track was born from a collaboration between the French duo and Julian Casablancas, lead singer of The Strokes. The collaboration took place while Daft Punk was working on the soundtrack for Tron: Legacy (2009-2010). They met Casablancas through a mutual friend. As fans of The Strokes, they gave him an instrumental track for their upcoming album. Casablancas listened, liked it, and added his vocals, leading to the creation of Instant Crush.

“Revolution is a French Thing” is the title of the Renault 5 commercial, created by the agency Publicis and produced by QUAD. The ad showcases the avant-garde spirit that has always characterized the French, highlighting their pursuit of innovation, progress, and social and cultural change. The Renault 5 commercial song, “Instant Crush” by Daft Punk, represents a dreamlike journey through different historical periods of France, featuring Nouvelle Vague cinema, motion photography, haute couture, and the French Cancan at the Moulin Rouge. The Renault ad concludes with a reinterpretation of Eugène Delacroix’s painting “Liberty Leading the People”.

According to Arnaud Belloni, Renault’s Global Marketing Director: “This film is a tribute to France. In 2024, more than ever, we continue to highlight the strong symbols of French art, culture, and craftsmanship, and the R5 perfectly aligns with this vision.”
