Tinder’s funny advert parodies first dates on the app
The Mischief @ No Fixed Address agency was in charge of the advertising campaign

Tinder’s advert parodies the first dates you have on the app with the help of e.l.f. Cosmetics.
The appearance of Tinder in 2012 revolutionized the dating world. With a simple swipe, you could choose from other users who were available to meet up. If the other user accepted, a “match” was created and you could start chatting with this person.
Now, almost 15 years later, the world of singlehood cannot be understood without this app. Like every successful product, it has suffered the appearance of clone apps that try to gain market share. To stay on top, the brand has launched a fun advertising campaign that parodies the profile of users on the app.
“Face the First Date” is the title of the Tinder advert created by agency Mischief @ No Fixed Address and in collaboration with the e.l.f. Cosmetics brand. This collaboration allows the cosmetics brand to launch a collection of products called “e.l.f. x tinder”.
The piece shows us how a young woman prepares for a first date via Tinder. While she is getting ready with e.l.f. cosmetics, her reflection in the mirror starts talking to her. This version of a magic mirror embodies all the girl’s insecurities and shows her all the possible scenarios she can encounter on the date. From a cryptobro, an influencer, a boy who is always with his mother or a bodybuilder. The girl ends up ignoring them in order to enjoy her first date.
According to Kory Marchisotto, chief marketing officer at e.l.f. Cosmetics: “Together we create a constellation that only fuels the trust of our respective communities. The majority of Tinder users are between 18 and 30 years old, so collaborating with their favorite beauty brand was a no-brainer.”
