Disney’s Christmas commercial tells us about the crazy traditions friends and family have this holiday season.
This is a special year for Disney. The studio celebrates 100 years and ends its year of celebrations with this Christmas spot. It is titled “A Wish For The Holidays” and is launched in more than 50 countries to kick off the most magical time of the year.
A campaign carried out by Yellow Shoes, Disney’s internal agency, which represents six countries and six different languages.
“A Wish For The Holidays” is the title of Disney’s Christmas commercial. It was made by the brand’s in-house agency, “Yellow Shoes” and directed by Grammy-winning British-Nigerian Meji Alabi.
The piece tells us different stories of families and friends around the world. Through the song “A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes”, the famous song from “Cinderella”, we see how several families and friends celebrate Christmas in different countries around the world. Six countries and six different languages put us in context and we see how they celebrate Christmas in Europe, India, China, Brazil or Africa.
Additionally, taking advantage of the premiere of the Christmas campaign, Disney will donate $300,000 internationally to the Make-A-Wish Foundation to help fulfill the wishes of terminally ill children around the world.
