Lego’s advert marks the start of the Danish brand’s 90-year history celebration.
Lego, the popular brand of building blocks, turns 90. It seems like yesterday when Ole Kirk Christiansen, a carpenter born in Billund, Denmark, created a company dedicated to manufacturing wooden items in 1932, which led to the creation of construction toys made of plastic.
90 years later, Lego has become the toy company with the highest turnover thanks to sales of more than two thousand one hundred million dollars. And to celebrate it, it has launched an advertising campaign that reminds us that humanity has always been builders.
“We are all builders” is the title of Lego’s advert to celebrate its 90th anniversary. It has been developed by Lego’s in-house creative agency in conjunction with Legoland, Lego House and the Lego Foundation.
The campaign celebrates the impact Lego has had on the way we play and have fun over time. In it we see how boys and girls from different eras have let their creativity flow thanks to the brand’s blocks and how that has led them to achieve even greater achievements in their lives.
The Lego advert shows various inventions that have been made throughout history: From buildings to space rockets to intelligent robots. And it is that according to an investigation carried out by the brand, it concludes that the game is a fundamental part of well-being and happiness in all people in the world.
