“Airphoria”
is the title of Nike’s action in Fortnite. It is a partnership with Epic Games with the idea of defining the future of sports experiences by mixing the physical and the digital. This action carried out in Fortnite is a thematic island dedicated to the Air Max; and in which users will be able to interact with them while trying to hunt them down in the game.
The Air Max 1 OG, Air Max 97, Air Max TW, Air Max Scorpion and Air Max Pulse models are found in “Airphoria City”, Nike’s island in Fortnite. In it we will see towers made with shoe boxes, basketball and soccer courts as well as themed areas. All users who spend 10 minutes in this area will receive an Air Max 1 ’86 Back Bling shoe for their avatar.
According to Ron Faris, Vice President and General Manager of Nike Virtual Studios: “As the digital and physical worlds become more fluid in the products and experiences we offer, we are always looking for authentic ways to deepen our connection with fans. Expanding the Points to give Nike access across our digital ecosystem and inspire a love of sport and the game.”
