Virgin’s advert to announce its new Wi-Fi connection features a cow on a motorcycle.
Many times, good advertising campaigns are those that manage to convey a sensation. Famous is the BMW advert: Do you like to drive? in which, in a single scene, he managed to evoke all kinds of emotions.
We are not going to compare the latest Virgin ad with one of the best advertising campaigns of all time, but hey, putting a cow to drive a motorcycle, and it being successful, has its merits.
“Why walk when you can ride?” is the title of the Virgin Media advert created by VCCP London and produced by Biscuit Filmworks. A 60-second piece in which we see a cow riding a motorcycle through the Scottish highlands and enjoying the ride. To the rhythm of “She’s like the wind” from the soundtrack of “Dirty Dancing”, Virgin’s advert manages to convey a sense of pleasure and well-being reflected in the movement of the cow on the motorcycle.
The animal has been digitally recreated thanks to the work of Untold Studios and the piece has been directed by director Jeff Low. The reason for the campaign, to announce the Wi-Fi connection guarantee of Virgin Media, the British telecommunications company.
