Lay’s advert is an innovative filming live at San Siro

The Lay’s advert was filmed at the San Siro with David Beckham and Thierry Henry searching for a bag of chips among the match fans.

The top continental competition has always been a perfect territory for brands to express their creativity. The best advertising campaigns of the Champions League have given us memorable moments such as one of the first viral campaigns in history.

That is why it is difficult for them to continue surprising us, as is the case with the latest Lay’s advert. In it we see how David Beckham and Thierry Henry look for some fans with a bag of Lay’s chips. The campaign was recorded live and they only had five minutes to achieve its result.

“No Lay’s no Game” (“Without Lay’s there is no game”) is the title of the Lay’s advert made by the agency Slap Global and in association with Meta.

The action was recorded at San Siro during PSG’s preview against Milan in the group stage of the Champions League. The brand brought together Thierry Henry and David Beckham to start a search among the public for some fans with a Lay’s bag. The winners could watch the game with them in a VIP area of the field.

The Lay’s advert was achieved through Meta’s immersive technology, which, thanks to its image recognition tool, was able to locate bags of potatoes among the public.

Ciara Dilley, Vice President of Marketing at PepsiCo, commented: “We’ve heard from football fans around the world and they agree: the experience is always better when you share a bag of Lay’s. This year we’ve given them even more reasons to own a Lay’s. in hand. Everything could turn out well, but success was not guaranteed.”

For its part, the A.C. Milan has been proud of the coordination of the different equipment of the cub. To record the Lay’s advert, more than 100 people, 42 actors and the use of 4K cameras and a drone were involved.
