“Mood for Mac”: McDonald’s turns your emotions into promotions
The Fullsix agency was in charge of the advertising campaign

McDonald’s Mood for Mac scans your face and uses AI to offer you discounts based on your mood.
Artificial intelligence has already become a part of our daily lives, helping us with a wide variety of tasks. Now, brands are taking advantage of this technology to launch new promotions and advertising campaigns.
This is the case of McDonald’s, which integrates artificial intelligence into its value proposition. The brand has launched a campaign in Portugal that reimagines the shopping experience by scanning your face and offering you discounts on new products.
“Mood for Mac” is the title of the McDonald’s campaign created by Fullsix agency in Portugal. It’s an innovative digital experience that uses AI to tailor the user experience based on emotional state.
Through MorphCast Emotion AI technology integrated into the brand’s app, consumers receive menu suggestions or coupons based on their mood. If the AI detects happiness, it suggests products to share, like ice cream or nuggets; if it detects stress, it offers comforting burgers.
“Mood for Mac” blends technology and emotions in an intuitive and entertaining process. This has led to high user adoption and very positive feedback.
According to McDonald’s, in a statement: “Mood for Mac aims to reinvent the shopping experience in a world where consumers, especially younger ones, are seeking more human and personalized interactions with brands.”
