“Never too far down” is Nike’s motivating commercial that encourages us to come back like champions.
As confinement from the pandemic is becoming more and more widespread, brands have been polishing their advertising campaigns. In the beginning, the Covid19 commercials had a very marked pattern and they all looked the same. As time has progressed, creatives have been able to evolve the messages they wanted to deliver.
So we have not come across authentic advertising gems such as the Bankinter ad, Coca-Cola’s ode to hope or the inspiring Nivea ad. Advertising campaigns according to the style and voice of each brand. These are joined today by Nike’s inspiring “Never too far down” advert, which encourages us to come back after these moments of personal and planetary crisis.
The Nike commercial follows the style of the American multinational supported by an emotional and inspiring speech. A message of improvement and optimism that aims to encourage the world population. It is a difficult moment in health, economic and social terms and the American multinational wants to fill us with optimism and strength with “Never Too Far Down”.
The campaign has been run by W + K Portland, Nike’s iconic agency. For 90 seconds we see images of the brand’s great stars: Tiger Woods, Lebron James, Rafa Nadal, Cristiano Ronaldo or Megan Rapinoe. All of them in the toughest moments of their career, facing a difficult situation and overcoming it to become the champions they are.
According to the brand: “By looking at LeBron James, Serena Williams and Tiger Woods, we see ourselves in them: our determination, our hope. Now, more than ever, we need these stories to remind us of what we are capable of.”
