Renault’s commercial encourages us not to take its new electric model
The Renault campaign encourages us to take the bicycle or walk before taking the car
Renault’s commercial in France presents its new Captur E-Tech hybrid model in an original way.
Car adverts have historically set the pace when it comes to valuing creativity in the advertising industry. At a time when you had to communicate in just 30 seconds, ingenuity and creativity were the order of the day to communicate the benefits of automobiles.
Little by little, however, they have been losing weight in favor of technology companies and the application of storytelling in campaigns that exceed two-three minutes in length and are available online all over the world. But the trend is changing again thanks to the emergence of electric models and their new way of communicating, which has provided creatives with new tools to surprise us.
This is the case of the new commercial from Renault to announce its hybrid model Captur E-Tech. It has been created by the Publicis Conseil France agency and presents the virtues of the new model from an environmental point of view.
The spot tells us three stories in which the car is not the protagonist, but encourages us not to use it every time. That sometimes it is better to ride a bike or walk than to take the car, even if it is a hybrid model.
The Renault commercial is accompanied by an emotional soundtrack, a cover of the song “You’re still the only one” by Shania Twain sung by Okey Kaya. According to Arnaud Belloni, Renault Global Marketing Director: “We have taken a brave approach, in line with the times. For the first time, we are suggesting people not to use the car every time, an unprecedented choice in the industry. automotive”.
