Apple’s Christmas commercial: “Share the Joy”
Media Arts Lab has been in charge of Apple's Christmas campaign
Apple’s Christmas ad takes us to sunny and colorful Buenos Aires.
Christmas commercials keep coming and they do so with very different proposals. Advertisements like the one by John Lewis, who wanted to raise awareness about the situation of homeless children in the United Kingdom; or Coca-Cola’s Christmas commercial that pays tribute to those who are no longer with us.
Today it is the turn of Apple’s Christmas commercial that flees from the typical Christmas productions to offer us a colorful vision of Christmas.
“Share the Joy” is the title of Apple’s Christmas commercial. It has been made by the Media Arts Lab agency and produced by MJZ/Labhouse. The piece offers us a tour of the sunny streets of Buenos Aires after a couple starts dancing in a bar. Thanks to the “Share Audio” option of the AirPods, the couple will begin to feel the same music on their devices.
To the rhythm of the song “Puff” by Bizarrap and Bhavi, the protagonists begin a choreography in which they both walk the streets of the Argentine capital. The couple’s movements, gestures and dance steps give way to explosions of snowflakes from the objects they touch.
Apple’s Christmas commercial is a different proposal that has been directed by Argentine filmmaker Juan Cabral and choreographed by Damian Jalet. The protagonists are the dancers Vinson Fraley and Gal Zusmanovich.
